Only the Jebeliya Bedouin are authorised to work as guides
in the Sinai High Mountains, which is their tribal territory and lies withint
the St. Katherine Protectorate. Trekkings to the High Mountains are organized
by Sheik Mousa at The Mountain Tours Office according to tribal law - el Dor - to ensure
full community participation. Other companies might provide additional services,
such as native language tour leaders, special interest programs etc., but
are required to work with the Mountain Tours Office and the Jebeliya guides.
Jeep and camel safaris to nearby regions and the desert are organized by
several companies.
